MountainSki.eu concerns on different activites connected with snow or ice in mountains. Main activities are skialpinism and splitboard.
Last Sunday before Christmas, December 19th we have been motivated by the celebration of Vseta's birthday to to for other skiing day. Thus, we went in the area of Radhost's massive. Vseta was very optimistic about powder snow and that's why we got up early in the morning. And we did not regret.
On the weekend 11th to 12 December 2010 Všeta arranged celebration of his almost anniversary birthday (note, Všeta will be only 25 next year, not 30 years old). As stated in an invitation to his celebration, this year it was just draft version, next year will be full party. The celebration was held at Certik's hut at an altitude of about 830 meters above sea level above the valley Tisňavy at the end of Velké Karlovice.
There was a short time available on the first Saturday in December, thus my Canadian colleague and I could visit Ötztal Alps for short skiing in Obergurgl or Sölden. Weather was excellent and snow conditions perfect.
Viktor Beránek announced at site Chaty pod Rysmi (2250 m) possibility for financial funding to finish rebuilding of hut Chata pod Rysmi. He presented it with his excellent style, so I immediately sent him 100 EUR on his account.
XXI. Pelikánův seminář Společnosti Horské medicíny s podtitulem „Aktuální problémy horské medicíny“ was organized in pension Hájenka near the Seč dam from Oct 15 to Oct 17, 2010. As I was in Germany on Friday, I could not see presentation „Doctors of Mountaineering Association and mountain medicine“ that started at 8 p.m.
10th Meeting Setkání cestovatelů 2010 organized by CK Alpina was in Jedovnice near Brno from Oct 1st to Oct 3rd 2010. After previous meetings in Větrný Jeníkov and Polička it was for the first time in the normal cinema hall, whereas all other evening actitivities were in cultural hall.
Members of 155. Horolezeckého oddílu Vsetín and friends spend after Christmas winter camp somewhere in High Tatras every year. In the last year we spent fantastic time at trip Chata pod Rysmi v prosinci 2009. This year we decided to visit after several years Téryho chatu (2015 m) in High Tatras – previous trip was excellent Skialpový konec roku 2007 na Téryho chatě ve Vysokých Tatrách.
I was at conference 9th EFIS-EJI Tatra Immunology Conference in hotel Patria just next to Štrbské pleso. There wer snowing in previous days, so above altitudes 1700 meters there were up to one meter of snow. For a pity, I did not take skis with me.
I started in November 11, 2009 this winter season (Beginning of ski season in Slovenian ski resort Krvavec). It could be interesting to visit the same place at the end of ski season. Finishing work in Ljubljana on Friday April 30 in the afternoon we stayed for a moment at Krvavec, where we walked shortly and on skins. We skied one short couloir and sk-slope.
I was working in Rijeka, Croatia, just after Easter. On the way to the next stop in Zagreb, I digress from the main road just a few kilometres and came to the „seaside“ ski paradise Platak. Obviously, ski lifts did not work, but there were a lot of snow on the slopes, the surrounding woods and rocky gutters from 20–130 cm! You can just imagine perfect day starting with a morning skiing on the snow and then 40 minutes to ride down to the sea and go for swimming.
